While our office is still awaiting vaccine supply, University Hospitals is beginning to vaccinate the public per the schedule listed. Read their announcement below:

UH Public COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign to Begin Tuesday, Jan. 19

Our role now takes on a new dimension as the vaccination campaign transitions to protect the general public against the novel coronavirus. We will begin vaccinating people age 80 and over — some of our most vulnerable patients — on Tuesday of next week.

The timeline for the next month, as approved by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is:

  • People age 80 and over (week of Jan. 19)
  • People age 75 and older; Younger people with severe cogenital, developmental or early-onset medical disorders (week of Jan. 25)
  • People age 70 and older; Employees of K-12 schools who wish to remain or return to in-person or hybrid models (week of Feb. 1)
  • People age 65 and older (week of Feb. 8)

Beyond these groups, ODH's vaccine distribution plan is still under development.

COVID-19 vaccinations at UH will take place initially at the UH Management Services Center, with other locations to be added later. We will provide updates as sites are added.

People who wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine according to this schedule must fill out a secure pre-registration form (that will go live later this week) on the UHhospitals.org website at https://www.uhhospitals.org/services/covid-19-vaccine. They will then be contacted via text or email by a member of the UH COVID-19 vaccination team to schedule an appointment.

Please note: Everyone must have a scheduled appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. We are unable at this time to vaccinate people on a drop-in basis. Also, due to the limited availability of vaccine, we cannot deviate from the distribution plan established by ODH.

As the public vaccination campaign commences, please discuss with your patients, family, friends, and neighbors the advantage of the COVID-19 vaccine and how UH stands ready to support our community with this vital service.

Vaccinating the Northeast Ohio community against COVID-19 is an enormous undertaking and responsibility, requiring the coordination and hard work of thousands of UH caregivers, both clinical and non-clinical. We are up to the task.

As always, thank you for your dedication to our community, our patients, and each other as we work together to meet this challenge.
