Asthma is a commonly known condition, but many people don’t know much about it. You may have questions, like: “What are the symptoms of asthma?”, “Are there different types of asthma?”, “How do I know if my child has asthma?”, and “What is the best medicine for asthma and allergies?”

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease in which inflammation prevents the free flow of air in the lungs. Those dealing with this condition may suffer from common asthma symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and/or chest tightness. Child asthma symptoms are much the same, though may manifest differently, including fatigue and less energy for play, chest pain that may be labeled as a painful belly, breathing inconsistencies and trouble while feeding or speaking.

Recurring adult or child asthma symptoms should be addressed by a qualified allergy specialist. They will be able to determine which of the different types of asthma you or your child is dealing with and offer appropriate asthma treatment options.
